JAMES H. SCHNARE


Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, Mr. Schnare was raised in Upstate New York. He is a 1977 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Law, Cum Laude, as well as a 1974 graduate of Point Park College, where he obtained a baccalaureate degree, Summa Cum Laude, and was a National Merit Scholar. Prior to joining this firm at its inception in February of 1983, Mr. Schnare was associated with the Palm Beach office of the Park Avenue law firm of Schulte Roth & Zabel and the Wall Street office of the international law firm of White & Case. Mr. Schnare is a member of the Florida and New York Bars, as well as a member of the American Bar Association and New York State Bar Association. Mr. Schnare presently concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate, commercial and entertainment/sports law.

Since relocating to Florida in 1981, Mr. Schnare has been involved in a broad variety of sophisticated commercial transactions related to the design, development and operation of golf courses and related properties, including over 18 years experience as legal counsel to Jack Nicklaus and various entities affiliated with him. In addition to his work with golf course designers and other golf related businesses on a world-wide basis, he assists developers and other legal counsel in the organization, legal structuring and financing of new golf projects, including the formation of joint venture entities and development and offering of golf club founder syndication programs.

Mr. Schnare has worked with CLE International of Denver, Colorado, since 2002 as a lecturer and program chair for their annual Golf and Resort Development Conferences in Florida and Golf, Mountain and Resort Conferences in Colorado. He is also the author of an article entitled "New York Choice of Law in Celebrity Endorsement Contracts - Safe Harbor or Oxymoron", originally published in the Summer 2002 issue of the New York State Bar Association Journal of Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law, and republished in the course materials for the 2003 Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Symposium of the American Law Institute and American Bar Association.
